My buildaix package (available at http://dl.aixtools.net/tools/buildaix and as a sourceforge project) uses the program /usr/sbin/mkinstallp for creatign the installp package. A change somewhere in the last years removed (probably a new test, not a modification of one) prohibits the inclusion of symbolic links when packaging from a non-root base directory.

I have been writing blog on IBM Systems Magazine - SecuringAIX - and one of the topics was on howto intergrate an application into RBAC - rather than using the roles provided by IBM for system administration. In that BLOG I promised a more detailed explanation. I finished it several weeks ago - and was waiting for it to appear here!

Manuals are often - behind the times - especially for performance options. I have known for a long time that the option "-h option_name" will give me the definitive help text for a performance command, but lacking a manual I lacked a complete listing.

FYI: There is a new telecommunicatinos law that is attempting to regulate the use of cookies on websites. ROOTVG.net does not use cookies for commercial reasons. The only reason/cookie I know of is one to maintain your forum login for 60 minutes by default. I have changed this default value to zero (0) but may change that to one (1) if zero behaves as if the setting is indefinite.

We are looking into what needs to be done to deactivate all cookies - as we do not use them ourselves - other than perhaps as the convience they were meant to provide to you.
