Hi,
I recently setup a VIO Server on a p6 570.
We had no Ethernet cards available, so we decided to use the LHEA(IVE).
I assigned 2 physical ports, and had to set them to Promiscuous mode to allow them to be created as a SEA, as it wont create it if it is not.
I first created an Etherchannel and then used that to create the SEA.
All worked fine and the VIO Client was configured and able to communicate over the network.
THEN . . . . . . .
All networks started having problems and became very erratic.
On and off intermitently.
The strange thing is that all VLANs and networks were affected.
The network guys pointed it to be the IP that we had configured for the VIO Server.
I suspect that setting the ports to Promiscuous mode had caused this effect!

Is there something that needs to be set on the switch or HMC that will prevent this from happening?
What else could have caused this?
