Well, you know how it goes, what hardware will do the job and is cheapest.

I have therefore been given the task to get a p505 (9115-505) running. It is second user, hence why it is cheap. There is no HMC with it, so I used our terminal server (Cyclades) to cable up the single serial port and after eventually working out that it is 19200 baud rather than the standard 9600, I'm seeing the following text:-
Welcome
Machine type-model: 9115-505
Serial number: *******
Date: 2009-9-24
Time: 15:02:26
Service Processor: Primary
User ID:I've taken out the serial number, just in case anyone unscrupulous tries to get support with it,

although we don't have that in place ourselves yet

I've not had a machine that requires a login at this point before. Any suggestions of default id & password to use?
Does anyone know why they do it? Isn't physical security sufficient?

Thanks, in advance,
Robin, Unisys Liverpool
